About the event

Similar to the gathering at Mount Sinai a few thousand years ago at the first Shavuot of all time, we look forward to commemorating the occasion with an outdoor gathering that brings us all together. What's more, we will be continuing an ancient tradition by hearing the reading of the 10 commandments from the Torah.

Your picnic box will include individually packaged hot lasagna, a vegetable and dip assortment, a cheese and cracker 'tray', water, cheesecake dessert and fresh fruit. For catering purposes, please be sure to specify the numbers in your party at registration as well as any dietary requirements or preferences.

Children can look forward to edible Mount Sinai crafts (individually packaged) as well as a puppet show and story time relating the episode of the giving of the Torah.

This event is free with a suggested $10 donation and is made possible by generous event hosts.

Please let us know at registration or directly whether you’d like to be a host this Shavuot!

In the case of inclement weather - we will notify you of an alternative location/plan.

You will receive a confirmation e-mail immediately following registration as well as a separate email (4 days prior to the event) from zalmanpopack@gmail.com with location and inclement weather plan details.

Registration will close Wednesday 12th May or when at capacity.

Feel free to email info@jewishinthecity.org with any inquiries.
